...in the old Japanese chronicles, you will find mention of KAGURA, the dance of the gods. The backstory being that when Amaterasu, the sun goddess, retreated into a cave and by doing so, threw the world into darkness and cold, the gods started performing a wild dance, to tickle Amaterasu’s curiosity and lure her back out. KAGURA is one of the rituals / dances said to have derived from this dance, and was subsequently performed at the imperial courts. The dance is said to channel the gods.
